Ashleigh Plumptre, a Super Falcons defender, has voiced her disappointment at missing the Paris 204 Olympics after being ruled out due to an injury incurred while on club duty with Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, according to BSNSports.com.ng. Earlier this week, head coach Randy Waldrum announced his squad for the Paris event, where Nigeria will return to the Women’s Football Tournament after a 16-year hiatus, with Rasheedat Ajibade, Oshoala, and Nnadozie leading the host of top selected players. While admitting that the timing was not ideal for her, she wished the squad well at the Olympics. “The timing hasn’t worked out for me to be considered for the Olympic squad, which has been a dream of mine since I can remember.
