According to reports, Leicester City is in the running to sign Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal, a former Leeds United loanee, along with Crystal Palace and Brentford.
Nketiah has been in and out of the Arsenal team since 2020, when he returned from his loan spell in West Yorkshire. He has shown flashes of brilliance, but securing a consistent starting position has proven difficult. Although he scored twice in Arsenal’s opening three league games of the year, he has only managed ten league starts overall. Football Transfers reports that Leicester is interested in the England-capped marksman.
According to the article, salaries won’t be seen as a barrier if promotion to the Premier League is assured, since big earner Jamie Vardy is probably going to leave at the end of the current campaign.
Ivan Toney’s departure is reportedly expected by Brentford, and Nketiah may be able to fill the enormous void he would leave. The 165-year-old Nketiah has been a longtime favorite of Palace. He has played senior football for Arsenal. In the past, Fulham and Wolves have both been mentioned as potential suitors for him.
