James Bisgrove Rangers compensation fee revealed as Ibrox club in ‘no rush’ to replace CEO.
Rangers will demand a six-figure compensation fee following James Bisgrove’s lucrative departure to the Middle East. The Ibrox club revealed yesterday that its top executive would leave just 13 months after succeeding managing director Stewart Robertson. Bisgrove has accepted a lucrative offer to join recently promoted Saudi Pro League team Al Qadsiah, which is controlled by oil giant Aramco. Gers acknowledged that a “interim structure” has been put in place, with John Bennett taking on the position of executive chairman to guarantee consistency ahead of the hectic summer transfer season. According to the Rangers Review, the Glasgow giants will seek a six-figure sum for their departing manager. It’s also stated that the Ibrox administration isn’t in a haste to replace Bisgrove.
Bennett said in a statement yesterday: “I’d like to thank James for his work at the club over the last five years as Commercial and Marketing Director, and more recently as CEO.
“Our commercial revenues increased dramatically under James’ guidance, and he played an important role in the club’s off-field restructure during the last year. The executive team James helped form has firmly established itself, and I fully expect this momentum to continue. We wish James great luck in his new role.”
