In a recent interview with Football Insider, journalist Pete O’Rourke said that Newcastle United are exploring a deal for West Ham United winger Mohammed Kudus.
O’Rourke said, “Newcastle has the financial means to acquire Kudus”. Bryan Mbeumo is currently their main choice for the right-sided forward position.
Kudus is on their radar, has supporters in the Newcastle leadership, and they believe he might improve their offensive options. He clearly has a £75 million release clause, but I doubt many Premier League teams will be prepared to make that payment. His suitors believe they can acquire him for less money because of West Ham’s predicament. They will undoubtedly be open to hearing bids for the Ghanaian international. “Kudus would move up their list of targets for the right-winger position if Newcastle were to lose out on Mbeumo to Man United or someone else. Despite only being 24 years old, Kudus still believes he has a lot to contribute to the European scene.
“He would be open to playing in the Champions League if Newcastle came calling.”
Last season, Kudus’ inconsistent performance in English football
Despite having a patchy season, Kudus was able to provide a number of significant Premier League performances for the East London team. The 24-year-old played in 35 games for the Hammers last season, recording five goals and four assists on all fronts.
It might be challenging for Newcastle to get him on the cheap this off-season because his current deal at the London Stadium expires in the summer of 2028.

Kudus can cause a lot of trouble for his marker out on the sides with his speed and skill as a ball dribbler.
