Brighton goalkeeper Carl Rushworth is expected to seek a fresh opportunity this summer, with a potential exit from the Seagulls on the cards, according to journalist Alex Crook.
Brighton have largely relied on Bart Verbruggen in goal this season, with the Dutch keeper making 31 Premier League appearances and keeping six clean sheets.
Carl Rushworth, meanwhile, was loaned to Hull City earlier in the campaign, but an ankle injury limited him to just two appearances. Brighton recalled him during the winter transfer window, though he has since remained on the bench.
Now, Rushworth is reportedly eager to leave permanently, believing he is ready for a new challenge. Several clubs, including Manchester United and West Ham, are said to be interested, especially given his status as a homegrown player.
Despite gaining solid experience through loans at clubs like Walsall, Lincoln City, Swansea, and Worthing, Rushworth has yet to make his Premier League debut. At 23, the former England U21 keeper may be weighing whether to be a backup elsewhere or push for a starting role.
Brighton still have five league games remaining against West Ham, Newcastle, Wolves, Liverpool, and Spurs — but it remains unclear if Rushworth will get his shot on the pitch.
