Bringing back players who can contribute is always a smart move.

Miami Dolphins Eye Re-Signing Key Free Agents Amid Cap Constraints

With limited cap space, the Miami Dolphins are focusing on re-signing their own free agents to address roster needs. Despite a relatively active start to free agency, the team still has several gaps to fill. This year’s free-agent market is considered weak, and with teams increasingly prioritizing retaining their own players, the Dolphins are looking to bring back two more familiar faces.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are considering re-signing defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah and running back Jeff Wilson Jr. Ogbah, who had a solid season last year, provides valuable depth behind Jaelan Phillips. While his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, will aim for the best deal, Ogbah may need to accept slightly less than desired, with the Dolphins also willing to compromise.

Wilson, on the other hand, offers depth in the running back room. With Alexander Mattison, De’Von Achane, and rookie Jaylen Wright already on the roster, Wilson’s role would likely be limited. However, his experience makes him a reliable emergency option, even if he sees minimal playing time. For Wilson, staying in Miami could mean accepting a reduced role, but it’s a practical move at this stage of his career.

By re-signing Ogbah and Wilson, the Dolphins aim to strengthen their roster without breaking the bank, ensuring depth and continuity as they prepare for the upcoming season.
