Manchester City are set to make additions this summer, even after a hectic winter transfer window.
Hugo Viana, in his first summer as Director of Football at Manchester City, faces a tough task to make the team competitive once again. Pep Guardiola’s side could end the 2024/25 season without a trophy unless they secure the FA Cup, a worrying possibility.
To make a strong push, Manchester City is targeting Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen as a marquee signing, but they could also bolster their defense with Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz.
Munoz, who has been impressive this season with five goals and five assists in 33 appearances, could be signed for just £25m thanks to a release clause in his contract. His strong performance, including a goal against Manchester City in their 2-2 draw in December, has made him an ideal replacement for Kyle Walker.

Signing Munoz would be a smart move for Viana as he starts his tenure at City, offering the same energy and attacking threat that Walker once provided. At £25m, this deal would be a bargain compared to the inflated prices of other full-backs in the market.
