Manchester City are set to finalize a move for Tijjani Reijnders this week, paving the way for AC Milan to focus on signing Samuele Ricci.
There’s been growing speculation around Tijjani Reijnders’ future, and according to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Manchester City are preparing an improved offer that could finally tempt AC Milan into selling one of their few bright spots from an otherwise disappointing season.
Back in March, Reijnders signed a new deal with Milan through 2030, doubling his wages from €1.7m to €3.5m per year. Milan are not eager to lose him — but if City raise their bid to €75m, it would be difficult to turn down.
City had already submitted a €60m offer last week and are now preparing to raise it. Pep Guardiola wants Reijnders in the squad for the Club World Cup in mid-June, hosted in the U.S. Club president Khaldoon Al Mubarak recently confirmed the urgency, stating their transfer targets and timelines are clearly defined.
If Reijnders leaves, Milan are expected to immediately reinvest in Samuele Ricci — a player they targeted back in January. Ricci already has a personal agreement in place with the club, and Torino are asking for €30–35m, a fee Milan could now afford if Reijnders is sold. The move could come together quickly once the City deal is finalized.
