Bayern Munich are now considering Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze as a more affordable alternative to Florian Wirtz, according to SportBILD.
The German giants were initially eyeing Wirtz but were deterred by Bayer Leverkusen’s €150m price tag. In contrast, Eze is seen as a more cost-effective option, thanks to a reported €60m release clause in his Palace contract, plus €8m in potential bonuses.
Bayern are hoping to capitalize on two advantages: their strong relationship with Palace, following last year’s Michael Olise deal, and the possibility that Olise could encourage his former teammate to join.
However, Bayern must first sell players to fund new signings. Several names are up for sale, including Kingsley Coman and João Palhinha, so any move for Eze is currently on hold—something that might comfort Palace supporters for now.
