Match Preview: Newcastle Utd v Everton

Everton will travel to the Northeast to play Newcastle United

, who are still in the running for a Champions League berth, on Sunday to cap off another wild season.

Thanks to a spectacular turnabout in fortunes managed by David Moyes, Everton finished 13th in the Premier League, far above the relegation zone, despite the fact that the previous season at Goodison Park at times truly fell to unprecedented depths under Sean Dyche. However, a number of players whose contract or loan agreements are set to expire in the summer need to have decisions made. While it has been confirmed that Abdoulaye Docoure, Ashley Young Joao Virgoinia, and Asmir Begovic will all be leaving the club, they may still be included in the squad on Sunday. Orel Managala and Jesper Lindstrom, two loan players who have missed the last few weeks of the season due to injury, are expected to return to their parent clubs.

In his press conference on Friday, David Moyes stated, “We’ll put something out on Monday,” referring to the contract situations of his players. As for the opposition, it seems that Alexander Isak is a serious doubt, and Joelinton, Lewis Hall, and Matt Targett will be absent. It should come as no surprise that Jarrad Branthwaite and Seamus Coleman will miss this final-day match due to injuries they both suffered last weekend.
