Against Everton, a few Newcastle United players might make their final appearance. 
Eddie Howe acknowledges that this Sunday may be some players’ final game for Newcastle United. However, Callum Wilson, a striker, is one of the people the Magpies’ head coach would not name.
On the last day of the 2024–25 Premier League season, Newcastle hosts Everton at St. James’ Park with the knowledge that a victory will ensure Champions League qualification.

The summer transfer window and incomings in particular come into focus right away, but Howe isn’t blind to the possible departures.
Howe stated: “I’m not sure on the thought of a huge change this summer. I mean, there could be. I’m in a position where I don’t know what’s going to happen and you never know going into any summer with transfer activity of ins or outs. You never know the numbers. You might have a thought of what could happen.” Wilson’s contract expires on June 30. Meanwhile, there has been a lot of speculation regarding Sean Longstaff’s future since he last started a Premier League game in December.
“However, it’s undeniable that some of the fans may not see some of the players again. However, I would say the same thing in any season. Unfortunately, change is a normal part of life and there are no promises. “But the players who have played for the team and who are currently in the squad have been amazing servants, and I think we should honor what they have done.”

Howe responded to a direct question concerning Wilson by telling NewcastleWorld, “I don’t know the answer to that.” Since the game is so important and the team’s performance and outcome are the main emphasis, I believe it goes without saying that the football club side has not been concerned about the players’ futures. “The goal has been to create a really strong team performance, and everything will obviously be discussed afterward.”

Wilson described the 24-25 campaign as the most challenging of his career in an interview with the High Performance Podcast earlier this week. After missing the first three months of the season due to a back and hamstring issue, the 33-year-old experienced yet another setback in December. Wilson has only been able to make two Premier League appearances since his return in February, but he has stayed healthy and available.
Since joining United from AFC Bournemouth for £20 million in 2020, Wilson has scored 49 goals in 129 games, but his injury history and position behind Alexander Isak in the hierarchy have raised serious concerns about his future. However, Howe adores the player, whom he signed for Bournemouth eleven years ago.
