Aston Villa address Emi Martinez future amid talk of award-winning replacement being lined up.

TBR Football exclusively reveals Aston Villa’s stance on Emiliano Martinez’s future at the club.

Emiliano Martinez has once again delivered top performances for Aston Villa, playing a key role in their Champions League quarter-final run and push for a top-five Premier League finish. However, with all clubs needing to stay within Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), Villa are considering Martinez as a potential high-value sale this summer.

TBR Football reports that the club has already held discussions with the Saudi Pro League regarding a possible transfer. Intermediaries have been involved, and the Saudi league has shown strong interest in the World Cup-winning goalkeeper. Villa’s past dealings with the Pro League — including big-money sales of Moussa Diaby and Jhon Duran — have created a solid relationship that could facilitate a deal.

To prepare for a possible departure, Villa are actively scouting replacements. Among the options are Lille’s Lucas Chevalier, who just won the Goalkeeper of the Season award in France, and Espanyol’s Joan Garcia, a standout in La Liga with the highest number of saves this season.

Chevalier, only 23, has racked up 127 appearances and 44 clean sheets, including 11 this season. Garcia, 24, has not only kept seven clean sheets but also leads La Liga in total saves, outperforming several top-tier goalkeepers. Although Arsenal are reportedly interested in Garcia, Villa could offer him more consistent first-team action.

With financial considerations in play and strong alternatives lined up, Martinez’s future at Villa Park is uncertain — and a high-profile move could be on the horizon.
