Southampton scores late to spoil West Ham’s chance for a win.

West Ham United were held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton at London Stadium, missing the chance to end their six-match winless run. Jarrod Bowen put the Hammers ahead early in the second half, but Southampton’s persistence paid off when Lesley Ugochukwu scored in added time to snatch a late equalizer.

West Ham struggled to break down Southampton’s defensive setup, with the visitors growing in confidence as the match progressed. Southampton created several opportunities, including shots from Kamaldeen Sulemana, who hit the crossbar, and Flynn Downes, who missed wide.

In the second half, Bowen’s goal appeared to put West Ham in control, but Southampton kept pressing. The game saw more near-misses for the visitors, including a denied shot from Luis Guilherme. In the final moments, a cross from Kyle Walker-Peters was deflected to Ugochukwu, who finished with a powerful volley, leaving Southampton fans celebrating.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, extending West Ham’s winless streak while Southampton claimed a well-deserved point in their tough season.
