Kansas State offensive coordinator Matt Wells is impressed by the playmaking potential of two new wide receivers, Jerand Bradley and Jaron Tibbs, as the Wildcats continue with spring practice. Both players, noted for their physicality and confidence, have shown promise, with Wells confidently stating, “They’re going to catch a lot of balls.”
Bradley, standing at 6’5″ and 220 pounds, and Tibbs, at 6’2″ and 202 pounds, offer a strong complement to the team’s leading receiver, Jayce Brown, whose speed and smaller frame (6′, 175 pounds) have made him a key contributor. Wells praised their development, noting their excellent route running, ball skills, and physical presence.
Bradley, a transfer from Boston College, is particularly excited about his return to K-State, having previously worked under Wells at Texas Tech. He brings a lot of experience, including a standout season in 2022, where he earned All-American honors and broke records. Wells highlighted Bradley’s maturity and competitive edge, crucial traits for any successful transfer. Bradley himself emphasized his versatility and playmaking ability, aiming to be a red-zone threat for the Wildcats.
Tibbs, a 19-year-old transfer from Purdue, has impressed with his athleticism and route-running skills, which he believes can still improve. Despite a slow start in his freshman season, Tibbs had a productive sophomore year, showcasing his ability to make plays in big moments. His favorite route is the deep post, which he describes as a “touchdown route.”
Both Bradley and Tibbs bring unique attributes to the team, with their size and speed making them tough targets for defenses. Wide receivers coach Matthew Middleton is confident in their future contributions, noting their commitment, leadership, and potential to excel in the Wildcats’ offense.
