David Moyes may reunite with Tomas Soucek at Everton, following their time together at West Ham United.
David Moyes spent five seasons at West Ham United before leaving last summer, with Tomas Soucek being an important player during that time. Now back at Everton, Moyes has been well received, leading the team to significant progress, including a recent 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest.
Moyes is reportedly keen to bring Soucek to Goodison Park in the upcoming transfer window, with the Toffees already planning how to secure the 30-year-old midfielder from West Ham. The Hammers are said to be considering selling Soucek after he has fallen down the pecking order under manager Graham Potter.
Everton’s need for new midfielders is pressing, especially with Abdoulaye Doucoure set to leave as a free agent and Idrissa Gueye’s contract also expiring soon. Key players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Michael Keane are also nearing the end of their time at the club, putting the club in a critical position for upcoming transfer decisions.
If Soucek becomes available, his previous working relationship with Moyes makes him a logical target. While not the most technically gifted, Soucek offers valuable leadership, a physical presence, and a goal threat from midfield, making him an ideal fit for Everton’s squad.
