David Moyes leaves talkSPORT host cringing with Everton comment live on air.

David Moyes has largely been successful since his return to Everton.

David Moyes has guided Everton through an impressive run of form, losing just once in their last 11 Premier League games. While there’s not much left to play for in terms of league position this season, the Scotsman will be looking to carry momentum into a crucial summer for the club.

Big Changes Ahead for Everton
The Friedkin Group is expected to support Moyes in rebuilding the squad ahead of the club’s move to Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium. Moyes has already expressed his ambition to qualify for European competition next season. However, this confidence wasn’t well received by former Liverpool striker Dean Saunders, who reacted awkwardly to the comments on talkSPORT, calling it “an Ange [Postecoglou] comment.”

Ambition Should Be Welcomed
Despite the reaction, Moyes has every right to dream big. His ambitions show confidence in both the club’s trajectory and its new ownership. Saunders’ response feels overly dramatic—especially considering the progress of teams like Nottingham Forest, who narrowly avoided relegation last season and are now competing for a Champions League spot.

If Everton can make the right signings this summer, aiming for a Europa League or Conference League place is well within reach. Moyes’ belief in a brighter future should be welcomed, particularly after years of struggles at Goodison Park.

With the right backing and continued form, Everton could finally start moving up the table and back toward the top end of English football.
