Chicago Bulls guard Coby White will sit out Tuesday’s road matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers for rest.
The Bulls (36-42), currently ninth in the Eastern Conference, are opening a back-to-back set, with a crucial game against the 10th-place Miami Heat (36-43) coming up Wednesday in Chicago.
White, 25, was recently named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for March and carried that momentum into April. He dropped 37 points, including six 3-pointers, in Sunday’s 131-117 win over the Charlotte Hornets.
Over his last three games, White has averaged 32.0 points while shooting 64.6% from the field and 52.4% from beyond the arc. On the season, he’s posting career highs with 20.7 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.6 rebounds across 71 games (70 starts). Chicago has won 12 of its last 16 games.
The Cavaliers (62-16), aiming to lock up the No. 1 seed in the East, will be without star guard Donovan Mitchell due to a left ankle sprain. Mitchell, 28, was injured during Sunday’s 120-113 loss to the Kings and has averaged a team-best 24.0 points, along with 5.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 71 starts.
