Micah Richards praises Jack Harrison’s “excellent” performance against Liverpool.

Everton’s unbeaten Premier League streak ended with a loss to Liverpool at Anfield.

David Moyes’ side fell short against Liverpool but still put up a solid performance. Diogo Jota’s second-half goal proved to be the difference after Everton missed a few decent chances in the first half.

Beto, who was praised by fans for his overall performance, missed a one-on-one opportunity, while Carlos Alcaraz saw his shot blocked in a dangerous position. Despite their efforts, Everton had nothing to show for their hard work in the end.

Micah Richards, however, singled out one player for praise on Match of the Day: Jack Harrison. Richards noted that while Everton struggled, Harrison was key to their defensive efforts. He highlighted Harrison’s tactical discipline, especially in narrowing the space and protecting the central areas, playing almost like a center-back at times.

Richards acknowledged that Harrison could have been better positioned for Liverpool’s goal but mostly placed the blame on James Garner for allowing the ball to drift centrally.

What stands out is Harrison’s relentless work rate on the pitch. He excels in pressing and maintaining team shape, which explains his regular selection by Sean Dyche. However, Harrison’s performance in the final third remains a concern, with his goal tally of just one this season being disappointing. His inability to capitalize on promising attacks, like a breakaway in the second half, continues to frustrate fans.
