Eagles’ White House visit under Trump was a ‘positive experience,’ says owner

The Philadelphia Eagles have accepted President Donald Trump’s invitation to the White House to celebrate their 2025 Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, putting to rest any speculation to the contrary.

Team owner Jeffrey Lurie addressed the decision, years after a previous conflict between players and Trump over national anthem protests led to a rescinded invitation.

“We just felt this is a time-honored tradition,” Lurie said, via Pro Football Talk. “So, there was no reticence whatsoever. To be celebrated at the White House is a good thing. The circumstances in 2018 were very different, and this was an obvious choice.”

Lurie emphasized that attending the event was entirely optional for players and had no political implications.

Head coach Nick Sirianni shared a similar sentiment, expressing excitement for the visit. “What an honor to be able to go to the White House. Teams that win championships have been doing this for a long time, and I’m really looking forward to it,” he said, via OutKick.
