Town goalkeeper Aro Muric fined £23,000 and handed six penalty points after pleading guilty to two driving offenses in Suffolk court today.
Ipswich Town goalkeeper Aro Muric has been fined a total of £23,522 after pleading guilty to two driving offenses committed last August. The 26-year-old, who resides on Playford Road in Ipswich, was charged with driving without third-party insurance and using a mobile phone while operating his Bentley Bentayga in central Ipswich on August 14 – just three days before Town’s Premier League opener against Liverpool, which he missed due to injury.
Magistrates at Suffolk Court imposed a £21,412 fine for the insurance violation along with six penalty points on his license, while adding a £2,000 victim surcharge and £110 in court costs. The mobile phone offense carried no additional penalty. Defense attorney Declan Gallagher emphasized Muric’s full cooperation throughout legal proceedings, though the goalkeeper did not appear in court.
The former Manchester City academy product, who joined Ipswich from Burnley last July, now faces an extended absence from the pitch. A serious shoulder injury likely requiring surgery is expected to sideline him for much or all of the remaining season.
