“I believe it’s coming soon” – Fulham boss Marco Silva eyes European football.

Fulham manager Marco Silva has expressed his strong desire to lead a team in UEFA competitions. In an interview with A Bola, he discussed his ambitions and the possibility of coaching in European tournaments.

Fulham currently sit eighth in the Premier League, just three points behind fifth-placed Manchester City and two behind Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion, who occupy sixth and seventh, respectively.

Silva began his managerial career at GD Estoril Praia in 2011, immediately after retiring as a player. Since then, he has coached Sporting, Olympiacos, Hull City, Watford, and Everton before taking charge at Fulham in 2021.

Despite managing several clubs in England, Silva has yet to lead a team in UEFA competitions since moving to the UK. However, he previously gained European experience with Estoril, Sporting, and Olympiacos, competing in the Europa League with all three and the Champions League with the latter two.

When asked what he misses the most, the former Everton boss pointed to European football, revealing that he has already received offers from clubs competing in UEFA tournaments.

“I feel like I’ll get it soon, but I want to get back to playing European competitions,” Silva said.

“I’ve had several invitations from clubs in UEFA tournaments, but at Estoril, in my third season, we were in the Europa League. Then at Sporting and Olympiacos, I managed in the Champions League.

“I must admit, this is something I miss because it’s an experience every coach needs.”
