Ohio State’s National Championship Team Set for White House Visit on April 14
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has confirmed that the Buckeyes’ national championship football team will be honored at the White House on April 14, following the conclusion of spring practices.
A Prestigious Honor
Day expressed his excitement about the invitation, reflecting on the tradition of championship teams visiting the White House. “Growing up, I always saw it as such an honor,” he said. “This is part of celebrating what our team accomplished.”
The Buckeyes secured their first national title since 2014 with a 34-23 victory over Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff championship.
A Busy Season for Championship Celebrations
Ohio State will be among several title-winning teams visiting Washington this spring. The Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers were honored on February 3, while the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles are scheduled for April 28.
Spring Game Adjustments
Day also addressed changes to Ohio State’s spring showcase, originally set for April 12. Citing potential injury concerns, he emphasized the need for flexibility. “We have to be smart about keeping guys healthy for the season,” he explained.
The White House visit marks another milestone for the Buckeyes’ historic season.
