Crystal Palace suffer Guehi setback as Newcastle transfer stance remains uncertain

Crystal Palace prepare for summer interest in Marc Guehi amid transfer speculation.

Palace Face Guehi Battle as Newcastle Eye Defensive Reinforcements

Crystal Palace are gearing up for a fight to keep their top players this summer, with Marc Guehi at the center of transfer speculation. The England international, who was a key target last summer, is expected to attract even more interest, with Newcastle United among the clubs likely to reignite their pursuit.

Newcastle’s Search for Defensive Options

The Magpies have also been linked with Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen as an alternative to Guehi. However, competition from top European clubs, including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, makes a deal unlikely. Journalist David Ornstein suggests Huijsen could favor a move abroad, leaving Newcastle to reassess their options.

Will Newcastle Return for Guehi?

With Huijsen potentially out of reach, Newcastle may turn their attention back to Guehi. Last summer, Palace held firm on their £75m valuation, rejecting offers just below that figure. However, with Guehi’s contract expiring in 2026 and no signs of a renewal, Palace may have to lower their demands to around £60m-£65m.

Chelsea, Guehi’s former club, could also be in the mix, potentially offering a player-plus-cash deal involving Trevoh Chalobah. Tottenham have also been linked.

Unless Palace can convince Guehi to extend his stay, this summer could be a long and uncertain one for the club and its fans.
