A Rivalry Renewed
This will be the fifth meeting between Ohio State and Texas, with the series currently tied 2-2. The Longhorns won the first matchup in 2005, but Ohio State claimed victory in the 2024 College Football Playoff semifinal, thanks to Jack Sawyer’s iconic strip-sack-scoop-and-score. The two teams will complete their home-and-home series in Austin in 2026.
Fox’s Love for Noon Games
Ohio State fans are no strangers to noon kickoffs, as five of their nine home games in 2024 were part of Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff.” While some fans have grown weary of the early starts, the alternative—exclusive streaming on Peacock—makes noon games the preferred option.
What’s Next for Ohio State?
The Buckeyes’ 2025 home schedule also includes matchups against Grambling State, Ohio, Minnesota, Penn State, UCLA, and Rutgers. Expect several of these games to follow the noon trend, particularly the November contests against UCLA and Rutgers.
