Leicester City Board Criticized as Main Issue After Man Utd Defeat

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Foxes are facing Premier League relegation.

Leicester City’s recruitment since their return to the Premier League has been heavily criticized.

After a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at the King Power Stadium, the Foxes are now staring down the possibility of an immediate return to the Championship. The loss left them nine points from safety with just nine games remaining.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side has also set an unwanted record, becoming the first team in top-flight history to lose seven consecutive home games without scoring.

On Match of the Day 2, pundit Troy Deeney expressed his concerns, saying, “It’s grim. I’ve been in relegation battles, and you look at games like Wolves, Palace, Fulham, Brentford – you’ve got to score in those games. Those are the ones you think, ‘Right, we can get something’.”

He added, “You can accept losses to Man United, Arsenal, and Man City, but not scoring in seven games is unacceptable. They’re conceding goals and not scoring any.”

Deeney pointed to issues at the club, suggesting that whether it’s Van Nistelrooy, the board, or the entire team, nothing seems to be working. “They need to take a hard look at their situation and get recruitment right in the summer because their recruitment has been all over the place.”
