West Ham’s Endless En-Nesyri Links Might Finally End
For what feels like as long as the Premier League has existed, West Ham have been repeatedly linked with Youssef En-Nesyri. More frequently than Jhon Duran, Tammy Abraham, or even recent target Jonathan David, the Moroccan striker has been a constant name in the Hammers’ transfer rumors for years.
Since West Ham’s Europa League triumph over Sevilla in 2022, speculation around En-Nesyri has only intensified with each transfer window. However, today’s reports suggest that this may finally be the last time his name is linked to the club.
The Turkish outlet Sabah.com.tr, as cited by Sport Witness, claims that Fenerbahce has slapped a hefty €50 million price tag on the 27-year-old. The report also states that En-Nesyri is keen on a Premier League move, but such a valuation is likely to deter potential suitors, including West Ham.
Spending €50 million on En-Nesyri seems excessive, especially when West Ham’s entire summer budget may be around that figure. If this marks the end of the long-running transfer saga, it might actually be a blessing in disguise. There are far better options available without splashing double the money of Niclas Füllkrug on a striker who is yet to prove himself as elite.
A season-long loan for Tammy Abraham with a €20 million purchase option suddenly looks like an incredible deal by comparison.
