Fulham winger Adama Traore is expected to be part of Marco Silva’s matchday squad for Sunday’s London derby against Tottenham Hotspur. The Fulham boss confirmed Traore’s return after the winger missed the defeat to Brighton due to a calf injury sustained in the FA Cup win at Old Trafford.
Silva revealed that Traore has made good progress in training, though he has not completed a full week with the team. “Adama is going to be back [in the matchday squad on Sunday]. [He has] not [had a] full week with the team but the past few days he has been slowly integrated into everything we have been doing,” Silva said.
Meanwhile, full-back Kenny Tete remains sidelined and is about three weeks away from a first-team return after a lengthy spell out. Silva ruled him out for the upcoming match and suggested he may also miss the clash against Crystal Palace. “It is impossible [for him] to play this game. It may be too soon for the Crystal Palace game, two or three weeks away maybe,” he added.
Silva also emphasized that Fulham’s focus remains on the Premier League despite an FA Cup quarter-final looming against Palace. He warned his players to stay concentrated on the present challenge. “If someone is thinking about the quarter-finals now, then they are not going to play. If they think about games which are not the next one, they will not play the next quarter-final. The players don’t think in that way. They are ready to play the next game in every single session.”
