Isak’s future at Newcastle has been widely debated, especially amid Arsenal’s interest in the Swedish striker.
Newcastle’s number 14 is widely considered one of the best strikers in world football right now. With such recognition comes inevitable speculation, especially when he plays for a club not traditionally known for winning trophies.
While the constant rumors are understandable, they can also be frustrating—especially when they are relentless and often baseless.
Isak’s current contract runs until 2028, so there’s no immediate urgency for Newcastle to offer him new terms. However, given his performances, some form of recognition is expected, with contract talks likely to take place at the end of the season.
Isak remains committed to Newcastle
Speaking to The Chronicle, Isak addressed his future, reassuring fans that he isn’t considering a move away and believes he can achieve his goals at Newcastle.
“Yeah, as I have said, I am not really thinking about the summer yet. That will be a talking point when the season is finished. No talks have been held yet.
“I mean, that is why I came here. I have said many times that I don’t really think too much about my future. I have said many times I am happy here, and we are competing for titles, which is what you want as a football player. We have been to one final and now we are in another one.
“The chances are there. We should look at it one season at a time, and this season we can win a trophy. I have said many times I am focused on doing a job. All of our focus is on Sunday and bringing a trophy back.”
Newcastle can silence the speculation
Winning the Carabao Cup on Sunday would send a strong message that Newcastle are not just here to participate but to compete at the highest level.
The ongoing media narrative that Newcastle’s top talents will eventually leave needs to end. However, until trophies start coming in, these rumors will persist.
A victory over Liverpool at Wembley could be the first step in proving that Newcastle is a club where top players can stay and succeed.
