Ben Pearson sat out Stoke City’s vital win against Blackburn Rovers after picking up an injury against Coventry.
Ben Pearson is aiming for a quick return to action for Stoke City after working with his surgeon this week.
Earlier this month, he played his first full game in 16 months following a hamstring injury that required off-season surgery and a subsequent setback in his recovery. However, he was forced off early against Coventry on Saturday, sparking concerns among supporters.
Fortunately, there is no tear, and although he missed Wednesday’s win over Blackburn Rovers, he is back at Clayton Wood today, hoping to be fit for this weekend’s clash against Millwall, where he could face his former boss Alex Neil.
Manager Mark Robins provided an update, stating, “Ben’s a lot better. There was no tear, just a complication from the surgery that has now been treated. He feels much better, and we’ve followed the surgeon’s advice on his recovery. This game came too soon, but we’ll see how he trains and progresses.”
In Pearson’s absence, Jordan Thompson stepped in for Stoke’s 1-0 victory over Blackburn, partnering with Wouter Burger and Lewis Baker in midfield.
