RB Leipzig are reportedly keen on signing Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana in the summer transfer window.
According to Africa Foot, the German club has already made contact with the Saints to inquire about the winger’s availability.
Sulemana’s future remains uncertain, especially if Southampton suffers relegation from the Premier League. Currently, they sit at the bottom of the table, 14 points adrift of safety.
Former Ghana manager Claude Le Roy shared his thoughts on the potential transfer, believing Sulemana has the talent to shine in the Bundesliga.
“I don’t know if this transfer will actually happen, but if it does, it would be an excellent opportunity for both the player and Leipzig,” he said. “He has rare qualities—speed, power, and agility—that would make him a top signing for Leipzig.”
Le Roy also questioned whether Southampton would be willing to let the 23-year-old leave. However, with two years left on his contract, Sulemana might push for a move if the Saints drop to the Championship.
“The real question is whether the club will agree to let him go easily,” Le Roy stated. “He could force an exit, as I don’t see him playing at that level next season.”
Alongside Leipzig, other clubs such as Genoa, Bayer Leverkusen, Ajax, and FC Nantes are also reportedly interested in securing the winger’s signature.
