Brighton and Hove Albion’s latest team news ahead of their Premier League match against Fulham.
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler is confident that star winger Kaoru Mitoma will be fit to face Fulham on Saturday.
Mitoma, who hobbled off in stoppage time during Brighton’s 2-1 FA Cup win over Newcastle, was initially set for a scan this week. However, Hurzeler has confirmed that it was only a cramp issue and that the Japanese international is ready to return at the Amex Stadium.
His availability is a major boost for Brighton, who have no new injury concerns as they aim for a sixth consecutive victory in all competitions.
Captain Lewis Dunk is expected to remain sidelined due to a lingering rib injury, while Joel Veltman is still struggling with a foot issue despite recently extending his contract.
Matt O’Riley has recovered from a stomach bug but is dealing with a minor knee problem, making him a doubt for the match. Meanwhile, Turkey international Ferdi Kadioglu remains out with a toe injury, though Hurzeler is optimistic about his return before the season ends, stating there’s “light at the end of the tunnel.”
