Crystal Palace battle Sevilla for €10-15m transfer target

Crystal Palace and Sevilla are both in contention to sign Royal Antwerp midfielder Mahamadou Doumbia.

According to Africa Foot, the Eagles have expressed interest in the 20-year-old, who has also caught the attention of Sevilla. Doumbia has featured in 36 matches since joining Antwerp from Nordsjælland in September 2023.

After playing a limited role last season, the Mali-born midfielder has secured a regular spot this campaign, racking up 1,678 minutes across 22 appearances. His performances have attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Crystal Palace and Brest, ahead of the summer transfer window.

Sevilla have also entered the race, with club officials closely monitoring Doumbia’s progress. While his current contract runs until 2027 and Transfermarkt values him at €5m, Antwerp are reportedly holding out for a fee between €10-15m. It remains unclear whether Palace, Sevilla, or any other suitor is willing to meet that price.

At Selhurst Park, Oliver Glasner currently has Justin Devenny and Will Hughes as midfield options. However, Hughes, who turns 30 in April, is out of contract in June, which could push Palace to reinforce their midfield with Doumbia.
