West Ham outbid by mega-rich Saudi club in transfer race.

West Ham’s hopes of signing Lille striker Jonathan David have taken a hit, as the Canadian forward has received a massive offer from the Saudi Pro League. While David is unlikely to accept the Middle Eastern deal, West Ham’s chances of securing him remain slim.

A reliable transfer source revealed that David has at least seven written contract offers, five of which are from Champions League clubs. The source dismissed claims that West Ham made the only concrete offer, calling them “utter rubbish.” The Hammers had the opportunity to sign David last season for £20 million but passed on the chance, with doubts over his quality.

Despite ongoing rumors linking David to West Ham, the reality is that the club is outmatched financially and in terms of ambition. While David would be an excellent free transfer, the competition from wealthier and more prestigious clubs makes a move to the London Stadium highly unlikely.
