Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish faces a significant challenge as Oliver Glasner has emerged as one of RB Leipzig’s top managerial targets to replace Marco Rose this summer, according to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
Glasner’s Impact at Crystal Palace
Since arriving at Selhurst Park in early 2024, Glasner has transformed Crystal Palace’s fortunes, improving performances and boosting team morale. Under his guidance, the Eagles have soared, reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals and nurturing talents like in-form striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
The Austrian manager’s reputation grew during his time in the Bundesliga, where he led Eintracht Frankfurt to UEFA Europa League glory in 2022. At Palace, he overcame a rocky start to his second season, with a recent 4-1 victory over Aston Villa lifting the team to 12th place in the Premier League.
Leipzig’s Interest in Glasner
Glasner’s success has not gone unnoticed, and RB Leipzig are reportedly considering him as a potential replacement for Marco Rose, who is expected to depart at the end of the season. Plettenberg revealed that Glasner is among three candidates being eyed by Leipzig and Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer, Jürgen Klopp.
