Stoke City Star Set for Action as Robins Updates on Boro Clash

Stoke City manager Mark Robins confirms Sam Gallagher is fit and ready to return after injury.

Stoke City signed Sam Gallagher from Blackburn Rovers last summer, but his first season with the club has been frustrating. The 29-year-old striker has struggled with injuries, limiting him to just 10 appearances and one goal so far. However, he did feature in Stoke’s recent match against Norwich City.

Ahead of their clash with Middlesbrough, manager Mark Robins provided an update on Gallagher’s condition. Speaking to StokeOnTrentLive, Robins said: “In his mind, I think he’s ready to go and desperate to get going. He’s a really intelligent guy, and hopefully, we can keep him on the pitch because we need him. He’s got a lot of talent that he wants to showcase in front of the supporters week in, week out.”

Stoke City is expected to be cautious with Gallagher as they reintegrate him into the squad. The club signed him on a long-term deal until 2027, aiming to strengthen their attacking options.

Upon joining, Gallagher expressed his excitement, stating that Stoke’s ambition to climb the league aligned with his personal goals.

Before moving to Stoke, Gallagher spent five years at Blackburn Rovers, scoring 37 goals in 188 appearances. He previously played for Plymouth Argyle and joined Southampton as a youngster, where he made 26 senior appearances. He also had loan spells at MK Dons, Birmingham City, and Blackburn to further his development.

As Stoke prepares to face Middlesbrough, they will be eager to bounce back from their recent defeat to Norwich. Middlesbrough has been struggling, increasing pressure on manager Michael Carrick. Currently, the Potters sit 19th in the table, just five points above the relegation zone.
