Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner lauded Tyrick Mitchell for his exceptional performance in shutting down Fulham’s Adama Traoré during their 2-0 victory on Saturday. Mitchell, who was substituted early in the previous match against Everton after a defensive error, played the full 90 minutes at Craven Cottage, effectively neutralizing Traoré and contributing to Fulham’s failure to register a single shot on target.
Glasner expressed his confidence in Mitchell, saying, “I told him before the game: ‘You defended Antonie Semenyo, and he didn’t have a finish. You defended Mohamed Salah, and he didn’t have a finish. Today, it was Adama Traoré who didn’t get a finish because we trust in you.’” The manager also noted Mitchell’s determination to improve, highlighting his eagerness to contribute offensively despite a missed opportunity. Glasner concluded, “It was a good performance from him,” praising the academy graduate’s resilience and impact in the win.
