There is “just one” team interested in Wilson Isidor besides Leeds United. Sunderland sources share a worrying report.

Wilson Isidor has just signed a long-term deal with Sunderland. Some people think he’s going already, though.

With his well-taken goal in Monday’s loss to Leeds United, Wilson Isidor now has 12 goals for the season. He has done very well in the Championship and at Sunderland.

Isidor was one of three players Sunderland acquired at the Stadium of Light. He joined on loan from Zenit during the summer transfer window and paid £5 million to purchase him permanently during the January transfer window.

Leeds United is reportedly interested in Isidor, despite the 24-year-old’s excellent play.
Additionally, it has been reported that on Monday night, scouts from Crystal Palace and Spurs visited Elland Road in an attempt to observe Isidor’s Sunderland teammates. Rather, they were most impressed by Isidor when they left.
Wilson Isidor’s future at Sunderland is discussed by Graeme Bailey in light of Leeds United connections.

Some Sunderland supporters are undoubtedly concerned about Isidor’s new connections elsewhere. However, it seems unlikely that Isidor will leave very soon because he has only recently been signed as a permanent player and because he obviously enjoys playing for the team.
However, if Regis Le Bris’ team doesn’t get promoted to the Premier League, Isidor departing in the summer is definitely a possibility, according to transfer expert Graeme Bailey, who spoke to Sunderland AFC News.
“Isidor won’t be leaving Sunderland if they go up,” Bailey clarified. Not a chance. But you can’t rule it out if they don’t get promoted.
Although Isidor has been linked to Spurs and Palace, Bailey has suggested that even more top flight teams may be interested in the Sunderland favorite, saying: “A number of Premier League clubs are interested in him, they are watching and like what he has done.” Leeds is the only one to show interest.
Wilson Isidor’s contract with Sunderland expires when?

For the most part, Sunderland excels at handling player contracts. In terms of contracts, Kristjaan Speakman is doing a good job, maybe excepting the current circumstances surrounding Tommy Watson in particular.

The fact that Isidor just agreed to a three-and-a-half-year contract with Sunderland in January, which would keep him there until 2028, may surprise many.

It’s not the longest deal, but it’s also not a short-term one. It might be better for Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Sunderland to accept a high-value offer and reinvest if one were to come in for Isidor in the summer.

That is the approach Sunderland is pursuing. It remains to be seen, though, if an offer is made that is comparable to the Black Cats’ assessment of Isidor, whatever that may be.
