Milan and Ibrahimovic frustrated with Conceiçao – report!

Conceiçao Under Scrutiny at Milan

Sergio Conceiçao’s position at Milan is reportedly under review due to inconsistent results and comments that have frustrated Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to *Il Corriere dello Sport*. Conceiçao, who replaced Paulo Fonseca in December 2024, has a better points-per-game record (1.83 vs. 1.58) but Milan remain seven points off the top four with a game in hand. They also lost the first leg of the Champions League knockout playoff to Feyenoord.

Ibrahimovic, serving as Red Bird’s advisor, appeared unhappy in the stands when Conceiçao substituted Santiago Gimenez and Rafael Leao for Francesco Camarda and Tammy Abraham late in the game. Before the match, Ibrahimovic praised Milan’s squad depth after five January signings, but Conceiçao’s response—highlighting youth sector options—didn’t sit well with him.

Conceiçao’s Record and Contract Situation

Since taking over on December 30, 2024, Conceiçao has led Milan to win the Supercoppa Italiana and earned 11 points from six Serie A matches (three wins, two draws, one loss). Although his contract runs until June 2026, Milan can terminate it this summer if the club fails to qualify for the 2025-26 Champions League—a key requirement for his future at the club.
