Football: According to Jack Rudoni, Coventry City’s FA Cup loss should have been upheld despite the disallowed goal.

Jack Rudoni believes his goal that was disallowed in Coventry City’s FA Cup fourth-round home loss to Ipswich Town should have been upheld.
At the Coventry Building Society Arena, Rudoni believed he had kept the Sky Blues in the match with a header shortly after the hour.
However, Brandon Thomas-Asante was flagged for offside because the striker was blocking Ipswich goalkeeper Alex Palmer’s view.

Moments later, the Tractor Boys scored a game-winning fourth goal to guarantee their spot in the next round, with Ipswich already leading by two goals.

And if Coventry’s goal had not been disallowed, Rudoni thinks they may have made a comeback.
“I just saw the ball come and I headed it in, but apparently Brandon (Thomas-Asante) was in the goalkeeper’s sight,” Rudoni stated.

To tell the truth. Since everything happened so quickly, I don’t suppose he gets to it any way. I headed it into the corner.

“The goal should have remained, in my opinion. Sometimes that’s how football works.

If we achieve that goal, I believe we will put a lot of pressure on ourselves to obtain an equalizer, push for extra time, and possibly win another one ourselves. That objective truly alters it.

“The game is ruined when you score and it is disallowed, and then they score to make it 4-1 on the other end.

“On the other hand, we are solely responsible for the majority of the goals because we caused them ourselves and they were highly preventable.”
George Hirst’s penalty in the second minute gave Coventry the lead, and the midfielder set up Joel Latibeaudiere for the equalizer.

Jack Clarke’s brace gave the Premier League underdogs the lead at halftime, but City lost the FA Cup to Jaden Philogene’s goal and Rudoni’s disallowed header.

The Sky Blues’ four-game winning streak in the league ended against Championship leaders Leeds United, which preceded the loss.

Rudoni acknowledges that City needs to move over their recent setbacks in order to meet Queens Park Rangers at the CBS Arena tonight.
“They have not knocked us back at all,” Rudoni continued, “and we are all very positive, knowing the squad’s capabilities.”

We believe we have the talent in our squad to defeat the teams we are facing, therefore perhaps we might have performed better in these games.

“We must ultimately concentrate on the league and return to it against QPR.”

They were two strong opponents, so we must move on from these two losses and focus on QPR.

“It will be a good game; let’s go into it strong at home and get the three points.” “They have been on a good run in the league lately.”
On Tuesday, February 11, Coventry will play QPR at the CBS Arena. Kickoff is at 7:45 p.m.
