The striker will not be seen on the field for some time after completing his loan move to Sunderland under strange circumstances. Before this weekend’s Championship matches, Regis Le Bris, the manager of the Black Cats, was asked for an update.
Regis Le Bris, the manager of Sunderland, has stated that he is uncertain of Jayden Danns’ availability after his loan move from Liverpool on the day of the transfer deadline.
Despite peculiar circumstances, the striker has committed to the Black Cats till the end of the season. The loan agreement was reached on the day of the deadline, but because Sunderland’s match against Middlesbrough was on Monday, it wasn’t formally confirmed until the next day.
After the loan was officially announced and Danns was photographed wearing a Sunderland jersey, it was disclosed that he would not be able to play in the North East right away because of a minor injury.
When the agreement was finalized, Sunderland’s sports director Kristjaan Speakman stated, “It’s unfortunate that the medical process highlighted an issue that ultimately requires Jayden to take a period of rest.”
“He was still very eager to visit Sunderland in spite of this, so we decided to work with Liverpool to make sure he had a chance to join us later.”
Le Bris provided some insight into the matter for the first time since the deal was revealed. Before Saturday’s match against Watford, the Sunderland manager clarified, “We don’t know at the moment with Jayden.” “We will most likely need to proceed week by week.”Since he is still a very young player, it is reasonable to claim that we must safeguard him. Therefore, we will collaborate with Liverpool to determine the best time to include him in the squad.
Danns will join a squad vying for a Premier League position once he is well. Sunderland has a game in hand over the top two and is three points outside of the automatic promotion spots. The Black Cats will also feel assured of earning a spot in the playoffs at the very least, given they lead seventh place by 14 points.
Danns has made four appearances for Liverpool this season, and Arne Slot was impressed enough to include the teenager in his list of attacking options for the first team last month. But his nascent career has already been marked by concerning recurrent injuries.
As the agreement was finalized, the teenager told Sunderland’s website, “This is my first loan move and a chance to prove myself, so I’m very appreciative of the opportunity and I’m grateful to the club for placing their faith in me.”
“This seems like the correct move because I’ve done my research and the team is amazing. Although I’m unhappy that I won’t be able to accomplish that right immediately, I’m glad to have joined the Club and will put in a lot of effort during this time to make sure I can get back to work and contribute.
