On Wednesday night, the Leeds United vs. Frank Lampard rivalry was back on the field. Lampard, who is now the manager of Coventry City, had a memorable evening.
Joel Piroe and Jayden Bogle’s goals in the first half helped Leeds United defeat Coventry City 2-0 in another comfortable performance, giving them a five-point advantage at the top of the Championship table.
In the Championship, Daniel Farke’s team is getting better and better. With nine goals in their last two games, the Whites are looking powerful and merciless in attack, even though they did not make any first-team acquisitions during the January transfer window.
Leeds United supporters were heard chanting at Lampard on Wednesday night. Lampard’s former Derby County team had a history with Leeds due to the 2019 spygate scandal.
In the away end at the CBS Arena, Lampard cupped his ears as the Whites supporters yelled, “Stop crying, Frank Lampard.” Since taking over for Mark Robins in November, he has won half of his 14 games as manager.
