At The Riverside, Sunderland overcame a deficit to defeat Middlesbrough 3-2.

Sunderland defeated Middlesbrough with a spectacular comeback, reviving their hopes of automatic promotion.

After Delano Burgzorg’s early goal was cancelled out by Dan Neil and Wilson Isidor, Ryan Giles’ late own goal gave the Black Cats the three points. Parity had been restored by Hayden Hackney, but Enzo Le Fee’s magical moment was what ultimately opened the game.

1. Patterson, Anthony

Defended really well throughout the game and put in a few dangerous crosses. Continues to be a solid defender. 7

2. Hume Trai

Played Bellingham into trouble for the second goal but used the ball well otherwise and found Le Fee for the third goal. Made one superb tackle on Whittaker in a dangerous position. Great late clearing header. 6

3. Luke O’Nien
found Le Fee for the third goal after playing Bellingham into trouble for the second. Otherwise, he made good use of the ball. made a fantastic tackle on Whittaker while he was in danger. Excellent header for late clearance. 6 | Fryatt, Chris

Played Burgzorg onside for the opener after being caught behind his other defenders. Some strong interventions thereafter, including a brilliant block to deny the hosts going 3-2 up. 6

4. Mepham, Chris
After being caught behind his fellow defenders, he played Burgzorg onside for the first goal. After that, there were several powerful interventions, such as an outstanding block to prevent the hosts from taking a 3-2 lead. 6 | Frank Reid
