Derby County are reportedly keeping an eye on a French forward, according to the latest updates from DerbyshireLive.
Derby County are reportedly keeping an eye on Hibernian striker Elie Youan following a £1.5m bid from Stoke City. The 25-year-old’s future has become a hot topic after the Potters made a seven-figure offer, which Hibernian’s board is currently considering.
Blackburn Rovers also had a bid for Youan rejected, according to the Scotsman, but Derby are now monitoring the situation as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the transfer deadline.
Hibernian manager David Gray addressed Youan’s future, stating: *”Nothing can happen for three weeks, and then all of a sudden, the last week, the last day of the window, anything can happen.”* Gray emphasized the club’s proactive approach to strengthening the squad and staying prepared for any developments. He added, *”At this moment in time, Elie’s still a Hibs player, and I’m obviously still using my focus on making sure that we’re still moving forward.”*
Derby Looking to Add a Striker After Injury Setback
Derby County may consider adding a striker due to Dajaune Brown’s hamstring surgery, which is expected to keep him out for the season. Currently, Lars-Jorgen Salvesen and Jerry Yates are the only fit strikers, although Kayden Jackson can also play as a central forward.
Youan joined Hibernian from Mechelen after a successful loan spell, during which he scored nine goals in 36 appearances. Since making the move permanent, he has netted six goals in 44 league games.
