During the January transfer window, the attacker was frequently linked to a move to Sunderland.
Louie Barry has explained why he chose to join Hull City despite interest from other Championship clubs.
The 21-year-old began the season in League One on loan at Stockport County, where he scored 15 goals before Aston Villa, his parent club, called him back. Following rumors that he was linked to Sunderland and Leeds United, Hull City signed the forward on loan until the end of the season.
Speaking following his transfer to the Championship relegation contenders, the 34-year-old goal scorer explained why he chose Hull City in particular.
“I’m really excited. I’m hoping to have a strong finish to the season after having a strong start. After joining Hull City prior to the transfer deadline on February 2, Barry stated, “I have a lot of goals in mind that I want to achieve here.”
“The gaffer said what I asked him to say. Seeing Sheffield United play was a major turning point in my life because what the manager said was accurate and came to pass. Now all I want to do is go outside. I’m eager to get out and hopefully score a few goals because I haven’t played in about a month.
“I want to finish the season the way I began, which was by generating opportunities and scoring goals. I have the Championship to prove that I am hungry—possibly more so than before. Since I’ve never participated in the Championship, this is my chance to prove myself.
