The Detroit Lions overcame a comeback by the Chicago Bears to win 23–20, ending their 10-game winning streak and their wait for a Thanksgiving victory.
This was Detroit’s first Thanksgiving victory since 2016, despite the fact that they had played on the American holiday every year since 1934.
After winning 11 of their 12 games this season, the Lions have tied their franchise record. They lead 16-0 at the half and 23-7 at the end of the third quarter.
In a lopsided first half, the Lions outscored the Bears 279-53 thanks to two touchdowns and 221 yards of passing from Jared Goff to Sam LaPorta.
The Bears’ losing streak reached six games after they failed to use their final timeout and failed to get the points needed in the dying minutes, despite Chicago’s comeback to set up a suspenseful finale.
The 10-game winning run tied the Lions’ 90-year record from 1934, when they played their first season in Detroit. In other news, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Miami Dolphins 30–17 in Florida to make it three straight victories. With two touchdowns, Jordan Love, the quarterback for the Packers, completed 21 of his 28 throws for 274 yards.
