Jimmy Butler is listed as injured for Friday’s game against the Raptors. Are the Heat still in the running for the NBA Cup?

Due to a back injury, Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler was unable to complete Wednesday’s victory over the Charlotte Hornets.

The Heat are hoping that Butler will be able to play on Friday against the Toronto Raptors. Because of back discomfort, Butler is labelled as probable for Friday’s game against the Raptors at Kaseya Centre (8 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network Sun).

The 35-year-old Butler exited the game with 2:57 remaining in the third quarter on Wednesday, the second night of a back-to-back set, and he never returned, spending the remainder of the game on the Heat’s bench with a heating pad on his back.

After the Heat defeated the Hornets 98-94 at Spectrum Centre on Wednesday, coach Erik Spoelstra remarked, “Just a tight back.”
