Jack Grealish delivers a candid assessment of Wolves following a winless start ahead of Man City’s match.

Wolves have the opportunity to begin their season today, but Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, will present a formidable obstacle. In 2024–2025, Wolves have not yet won a game in the league.

Fans anticipated a difficult beginning. However, many are concerned about how woefully inadequate Wolves’ defense has been and how the squad has failed to take advantage of advantageous positions during games. Although the Wolves board is supporting Gary O’Neil for the time being, he is feeling more and more pressure at Molineux. With Man City in town today, things for Wolves don’t get any simpler.

They’re a team with quality all throughout their squad, and have the potential to destroy teams who set up in the wrong way.

But their winger Jack Grealish is expecting a tough test today, as he gave his honest thoughts about Wolves.

Jack Grealish claims Wolves will ‘obviously’ be difficult for Man City

For Grealish, today’s game will be anything but easy.

He thinks Wolves haven’t played as poorly as their standing in the table suggests. It’s going to be challenging, he said in an interview with mancity.com prior to the match. “There are currently no easy games in the Premier League. “I am aware that Wolves may not appear to be playing their best on the table. However, we are aware that playing Wolves away from home is usually extremely difficult, as we have occasionally struggled there.

We know it is going to be a difficult game and then it is straight back into the Champions League games which is always difficult.”

Wolves must now show Man City too much respect

Today it is going to be important that Wolves do not show City too much respect at Molineux.

If O’Neil is going to take anything from today’s game, then the players need to believe in themselves.

It is going to be City dominating the ball. But Wolves ought to try and pick their moments and attack on the counter. Opportunities may be scarce, so it’s vital Wolves make them count when they do come.

There is no reason why Wolves can’t get a result today.

Even if they haven’t lost yet, City hasn’t been playing at their best this season. They are undoubtedly not at the peak of their game yet in 2024–2025, but they have so much quality and can clearly put teams to the sword. Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne are not playing for the visitors today, which may give Wolves a better opportunity.

According to Steve Bull, Craig Dawson’s ability to keep Erling Haaland silent will be crucial, and if the veteran performs well, there may be a possibility of earning anything. Wolves have to have faith because they have faced this opponent at Molineux in the past.
