If the correct offer were to come in, Arsenal might think about selling the “struggling” £45 million player in the summer.

The season is about to resume this weekend, and Arsenal has had another fantastic start. During the most recent international break, Mikel Arteta’s team was able to evaluate their first seven Premier League games.

The Gunners have not exactly had a lucky break, as Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has developed an injury concern. Saka is not the only player at London Colney with an injury issue; Gabriel Martinelli, an Arsenal winger, also sustained an injury while traveling with Brazil. Thankfully, Arsenal has options because Arteta may choose from players like Raheem Sterling and Leandro Trossard.

However, there is another forward in north London who might be in his last season with the team and has to make a decision about his future.

Arsenal could sell £45m forward next summer

After a fairly tame summer transfer window, the Gunners could look to offload some players over the coming months.

One of those is left-back Kieran Tierney who could leave Arsenal for his former club Celtic as he remains an outcast for Arteta.

Edu Gaspar and Arteta want to improve this Arsenal team as the Gunners aim to reverse the tide in their quest for the Premier League championship.

And there is one player who Charles Watts believes could fall victim to potential future cuts of the Arsenal squad in the summer window.

“Gabriel Jesus is clearly struggling for confidence right now. You can see that by the way he’s playing. He’s thinking about things too much and taking too many touches when he’s in possession,” Watts told his Daily Briefing.

“When Jesus is at his best he does things off the cuff. He creates chaos with his movement and his work rate. But right now he’s bringing more confusion than chaos with his play.

“I think there’s certainly a chance this could be his final season at the club, but obviously that is a decision that will be taken in the summer should any suitable offers arrive.”

Ian Wright has urged Arsenal supporters to support the £45 million Jesus despite his difficulties, but the Brazilian has not impressed since moving to north London, therefore Arsenal has to make a significant upgrade at striker. Only four goals in the Premier League the previous season and eleven the season before were scored by the 27-year-old. This is just insufficient for a team that wants to win the league, especially because Erling Haaland has already given Manchester City ten goals this season. Offloading Jesus could be crucial to Arsenal’s ability to finance a move for a new striker, since Benjamin Sesko is reportedly still attracting their attention.
