Wolves Fire Coach After Unsatisfactory Performance

According to reports, Jack Wilson, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ set piece coach, has left the team. Gary O’Neil’s team has had a challenging start to the season as they are now rooted at the bottom of the Premier League standings.

They haven’t won any of their seven games and have only managed one point. Their situation deteriorated over the weekend as they lost badly to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium. They lost by a score of 5-3 in an eight-goal thriller.

Wolves ‘part ways’ with set piece coach

The decision was taken by O’Neil and the club’s hierarchy

Journalist Danyal Khan of Sky Sports claims that Wilson, Wolves’ set-piece coach, has left the team. When he arrived from Manchester City in the summer, he was the club’s first hire in that area, but rumors have it that things haven’t gone as planned.

The club’s management and manager O’Neill, according to Khan, made the decision because, in five of their seven league games thus far, the team has given up goals from set pieces. Wolves have not scored from one either.

As things stand, there are reportedly no plans to bring in a replacement in the short term. The focus for O’Neil and the rest of his backroom staff will be turning their form around as they look to move off the bottom of the table after the international break.
