What Celtic supporters will spend on tickets to the Hampden League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen

Brendan Rodgers, the manager, has secured another date at Hampden following Celtic’s League Cup victory against Falkirk. Following John McGlynn’s team’s 5-2 loss, Jimmy Thelin’s Aberdeen team—who is having a fantastic season thus far—was scheduled to play in the semi-finals.

Sitting just below Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table, the Pittodrie club look like a different team from the one that struggled last term but whether they can make a sustained challenge to Celtic for the title is another matter.

However, Celtic will face Aberdeen on the 2nd of November and the SPFL has released more details including the cost of a ticket for the big Hampden showdown.

SPFL ‘extend’ concessionary prices for Celtic vs Aberdeen

In a statement released yesterday, the SPFL confirmed that the majority of their ticket prices will be kept at a reasonable price.

Tickets will priced between £30-£35 for adults with U16 and over65s being charged £15-£18. The concessionary prices will apply to the North and South stands of Hampden for Celtic and Aberdeen supporters.

The Celtic supporters will be split across the South, North and East stands whilst Aberdeen fans will be placed in the South and West stands.

Celtic looking to land first trophy of the season

The League Cup has been so important to Celtic over the years. The trophy represents the first step to a treble in which Celtic are the record-holders with eight won in their history.

For many years to come, many Celtics fans will recall the historic Quadruple Treble as a pivotal point in the team’s history. Not to mention, at the start of their careers, Wim Jansen, Martin O’Neill, and Ange Postecoglou were all motivated to win major titles for Celtic by winning the trophy. That’s true; Brendan Rodgers’ 2017 Invincibles Treble victory was partly motivated by his first trophy win as Celtic manager. The Hampden venue is one that the Celtic fans have had some very memorable experiences at, so they will be eagerly anticipating the match.
